Christy Allen, Lawyer, Davidson Houle Allen.

Christy Allen provides a full range of corporate and litigation services to condominium directors, managers, owners, and insurers. She also represents co-tenancy associations, and gives advice with respect to co-tenancies’ governing documents.

Christy’s work includes building deficiency actions, proceedings involving difficult owners and tenants, collection and lien proceedings, including power of sale, as well as matters involving the enforcement of property rights. She also has experience with construction law. She has appeared on behalf of her clients before the Superior Court of Justice (including the Small Claims Court), the Ontario Court of Appeal, and various administrative tribunals.

Christy is compassionate and personable. She enjoys finding solutions for people, given their circumstances, and doing so in an efficient and practical manner. She relishes the challenge of having a new problem to solve, and developing creative ways to tackle it. Most rewarding of all for Christy is the opportunity to have a direct impact on her clients’ lives.

Christy’s number one priority outside of work is her family. She also enjoys hiking, skiing, and playing soccer, which she has done from a very young age.

Gareth Stackhouse, Lawyer, Common Ground Condo Law.

Gareth Stackhouse acts as general counsel to condominium corporations, helping them with every legal issue that, literally, walks in their front doors. Gareth is adept at finding common-sense solutions to legal problems. Day-to-day, he counsels clients efficiently and in plain language, assisting their operations and communities in moving forward while understanding and minimizing risks. Gareth specializes in condominium documents and corporate governance, shared facilities issues, contracts and agreements, and technical real estate matters (including zoning and use issues).
Gareth is a lawyer to Common Ground Condo Law and serves clients across Ontario, is active in numerous CCI chapters, ACMO, and he frequently writes and speaks on condominium topics. He has called small-town Ontario (the Ottawa Valley and the near “north”), Kingston, Halifax, and Toronto “home”.

John Fitzgerald, Property Manager, Apollo Management.

John Fitzgerald is a licensed condominium manager with over 5 years of experience in the field. John joined Apollo Property Management in 2015 after graduating with a Masters in Business Administration from the University of New Brunswick. Since starting in the field, John has come to love the creativity and resourcefulness needed to work through the complicated situations that arise in condominium management on a day-to-day basis. 

John’s management experience has consisted primarily of a portfolio of residential condominiums built in the 70’s and 80’s. John enjoys working with Boards of Directors to carry out large scale restoration projects to keep buildings looking modern and attractive, as well as working with condominium owners and residents to ensure that they are happy and comfortable in their homes.

Outside of work, John enjoys spending quality time with his family. He also enjoys, hiking, travelling, and spends his winter evenings and weekends officiating basketball at various levels throughout Canada.
