Mental Health issues can affect any resident of a condominium. The lack of understanding or the lack of taking appropriate steps with these issues when they present themselves can lead to significant challenges for Boards and Management.
 
Join our panel of experts as they discuss the mental health challenges in society and how it affects Condo Living. They will provide the tools and tips to Boards on how to work through these situations when they arise in condominium communities.

Val Khomenko is a senior condominium manager with Icon Property Management based in Toronto, ON. While a former resident of Ottawa, Val continues to contribute to CCI Eastern Ontario by serving on Management Advisory Committee & Education Committee respectively. Val entered the industry in 2014 as an administrator and has grown exponentially in his roles since. His dedication and commitment to the industry is limitless.

Nadia is a highly motivated and achievement-oriented real estate professional with an impressive 40 years of hands-on expertise in the real estate industry; offering a wealth of experience and knowledge in managing multiple residential, condominium and commercial properties. Nadia is a Judge for the Canadian Federation Housing Awards as well as a Supreme Court appointed Administrator/Inspector.

Nadia was part of the Condominium Management Regulatory of Ontario (CMRAO), Stakeholder Condominium Implementation Working Group, implementing changes to the Act.

She has been appointed by the CMRAO to hear complaints or appeals filed with the Discipline Committee and the Appeals Committee and is a committee member for preparing course documents and competencies for both Limited Licensees and General Licensees.

Licensed Psychologist, College of Psychologists of New Brunswick (CPNB) 
Certified Psychologist, College of Psychologist of Ontario (CPO)

Ms. Thériault is a licensed psychologist with the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick (CPNB) and a certified psychologist with the College of Psychologist of Ontario (CPO). She is past president of CPNB and Director of the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA). She has been granted the status of Fellow with CPA and Honorary/Fellow of CPNB. She has worked in various clinical settings including health, mental health and corrections. Ms. Thériault has been conducting Correctional Program Assessments training and evaluations for the last twenty years. She is past Chair of the Health Care Advisory Committee for Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) representing the CPA. She has conducted Independent reviews of death in custody for the federal Canadian correction system as well as investigation of non-natural death in custody. She has provided professional consultation for the impact of long-term segregation in Canadian federal prison as well as assisting in legal court case challenges on those issues. Her work involves program evaluation, professional ethics, consultations to various organisations in health services and correctional programs.  

From 2018-2020 she was member and president of her condo board in Ottawa. She belongs to the Davesté Artists, Devasté Art Gallery, North Carolina where she has photography book and art in display.
