This webinar serves as a follow-up to our highly attended March 2023 session, offering new insights, updated information, and meaningful discussion with City representatives.
Speakers
Angela Plant
Angela works with Solid Waste Services at the City of Ottawa. She is the Project Manager who oversees the Multi-residential Waste Diversion Strategy, a plan adopted by Council to support multi-unit properties to improve recycling and composting. Angela has over 10 years of experience supporting businesses and organizations to achieve their sustainability goals, including most recently as the Residual Resources Coordinator for the University of Ottawa.
Waku Simon
Waku is a Program Coordinator with the City of Ottawa’s Better Buildings program, where she supports building owners and operators to improve energy performance, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and advance climate resilience through coordinated program delivery and project management. Her work focuses on strategic communications and community engagement, with a strong commitment to climate action and social impact. In this session, Waku will share updates on the City of Ottawa’s Better Buildings program, including current initiatives, program progress, and opportunities for building owners and partners to engage in advancing energy efficiency and climate goals.
Connor Renouf
Connor is an Outreach and Communications Coordinator with Climate Change and Resiliency Services at the City of Ottawa. He has over 8 years of experience municipal project and program management. Connor joined the City of Ottawa in 2022 where he is currently involved in Rain Ready Ottawa and community climate resiliency. Connor will present information on the City’s Rain Ready Ottawa program, which provides rebates of up to $5,000 to support homeowners in retrofitting their properties to improve stormwater management and reduce impacts on Ottawa’s watersheds. He will also highlight exciting changes for 2026 that will include a new rebate stream for condominium common elements and engagement opportunities to help shape this new stream.
